Lip Flip safe with very low dose but one of the most difficult botox areas - excess dose causes serious side effects. Side effects: Mild redness, small swelling 1-2 hours. Specific risks:SWALLOWING DIFFICULTY (excess dose = orbicularis oris over-weakened - hard to drink liquids) - resolves 2-4 weeks, patient waiting. Speech difficulty ('P', 'B', 'F', 'M' letters - lip movement restricted) - 2-4 weeks. Asymmetric smile - unbalanced dose - touch-up 2-3 weeks. Liquid leak while drinking - over-weakening. Smoking / wind instrument difficult (saxophone, clarinet, trumpet - profession). Very rare: Lip suction problem - breastfeeding mothers ESPECIALLY careful. Contraindications: Professional musicians (wind), breastfeeding mothers (relative - baby breastfeeding), Myasthenia Gravis, pregnancy, botulinum allergy, bleeding disorder, last lip surgery 3 months, active herpes simplex.

Does lip flip replace filler?
Partially.Lip flip: Visual mild fullness - lip curls outward via muscle weakening. HA filler: Real volume - more prominent result. Lip flip good for those not ready for filler or wanting natural. Severe thin lip needs filler.
Why effect short (2-3 months)?
Orbicularis oris very active muscle - eating, talking, smiling, kissing = constantly used = botox effect resolves faster than other muscles. With Daxxify can be 4-5 months.
Will swallowing difficulty occur?
RARE but possible. Risk: excess dose (above 8 IU), injection too close to mucosa. Minimum risk at TSHEALTH with 4-8 IU strict limit + vermillion border rule. If occurs 2-4 weeks patience - consume thick beverages instead of liquids.
Can I smoke?
YES but wait 24 hours. No smoking first 24 hours after lip flip (high lip muscle use). Normal after. Lip flip NOT RECOMMENDED for wind instrument players.

Is Botox application painful?
Because very fine needles are used the pain is minimal; the procedure takes a few minutes and usually needs no anaesthesia.

The first effect is seen in 3–5 days and the full result settles in 10–14 days, which is why I review at two weeks.
Does Botox have side effects?
There may be temporary mild redness or bruising at the injection site; with correct technique no serious side effects are expected.
How often should Botox be repeated?
When the effect fades, repetition is usually recommended every 4–6 months; regular treatment prevents lines from deepening.
Does Botox permanently prevent wrinkles?
Early, regular treatment delays expression lines from becoming permanent wrinkles, which is why it is also chosen preventively.
Who can and cannot have Botox?
Most healthy adults are suitable; it is not given to pregnant or breastfeeding women or those with certain neuromuscular conditions, and I assess suitability at the examination.
