BBL — Brazilian
Butt Lift
“In body contouring my aim is proportion, not excess; I create a natural, balanced line tailored to each body.”
A BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) is a body-contouring procedure where your own fat, harvested by liposuction, is processed and transferred to the buttocks for natural volume and shape. In the same session, areas like the waist and abdomen are slimmed. It is performed by our experienced team. For all surgical procedures see our surgical aesthetics page.

A BBL isn't a static implant — it is living architecture. Sometimes patients ask, 'If I gain weight, will my butt get bigger? Could an unwanted result appear?' Some patients actually have this concern, and some even say they want a bigger result. Of course, there are some limits to this. If a patient wants more volume, yes, you can gain some weight — but only about 3-4 kilos. Don't gain more than that; otherwise the result we created may change, the shape we gave may be distorted, and deformities or asymmetries may occur. On the other hand, if the patient doesn't want it to get bigger, or even wants it to become smaller, we advise not to gain weight. If you want a smaller result, you can lose a few kilos — but again, only around 3-4 kilos. Because if you lose too much weight, the result may shrink more than desired, and the shape we created may change. So to protect the BBL result, staying within a stable weight range is important.BBL (Fat Transfer) vs Buttock Implant — Comparison
There are two ways to enhance the buttocks; the right choice depends on your fat reserves, goal and the examination.
The comparison is for general information; the suitable method is determined with a personalised assessment.
The BBL Process
- Consultation and planning: target shape, fat reserves and suitability are assessed together.
- Fat harvest: fat is collected by liposuction from areas like the waist, abdomen or back (the body is contoured too).
- Fat preparation: the harvested fat is processed for transfer.
- Injection: fat is transferred to the buttocks in layers, into a safe plane for a natural look.
- General anaesthesia and observation: the procedure is done with an expert team; observation may be advised by case.
- Sitting cushion and instructions: a written care plan is given to protect healing.
Recovery, Result and Safety
- Direct sitting is avoided for the first 2-3 weeks; a special BBL cushion is used.
- A compression garment supports healing of the liposuction areas.
- Some of the transferred fat resorbs; the final result usually settles at 3-6 months.
- A 7-10 day stay in Istanbul is usually advised for check-ups and a safe return.
- Safety is the priority: an experienced plastic surgeon, the correct (non-intramuscular) injection plane and a fully equipped theatre reduce risk.
- Stopping smoking for the indicated period supports healing.
